The patient must have a medical complication or a physical impairment that limits their mobility, ability to self-care, perform cognitive functions, communication limitations or perpetual motor functions. The patient must be able to make functional advancements within an appropriate amount of time. The patient must require assistance and intervention of two therapeutic disciplines while taking at least three hours of therapy for a minimum of five days per week. The patient should be medically stable and must require 24-hour care and assistance. The impairment should be of recent onset.
